A few months ago, many political pundits called Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) bid for the White House a longshot. Today, Sanders leads Hillary Clinton and the rest of his Democratic opponents in crucial states, including Iowa and New Hampshire, according to recent polling.
With momentum picking up, the Sanders campaign released the names of 128 celebrities who have pledged support for the campaign.
Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Will Ferrell, Margaret Cho, Danny DeVito, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Juliette Lewis, Zoë Kravitz, Justin Long, Ezra Miller, Graham Nash, Patton Oswalt, Jeremy Piven, John C. Reilly, Bonnie Raitt, Sarah Silverman, Steve Wozniak and Hans Zimmer.
“We — the undersigned artists, musicians, and cultural leaders of America — are excited to endorse a new vision for our country. It’s a vision that pushes for a progressive economic agenda,” reads the campaign page.
Mark Ruffalo and Susan Sarandon, whose names were also on the list, were early celebrity supporters of Sanders. DeVito maxed out political contributions to Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, who is also seeking the Democratic nomination, earlier this year.
On Friday, Ruffalo shared an image of himself at a Sanders rally in New York City.
A-List stars are coming to the defense of reproductive rights in a new web ad by the Center for Reproductive Rights.
Among the stars participating: Meryl Streep, Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick, Lisa Kudrow, Amy Poehler, Sarah Silverman, Tea Leoni and more. In the video, the stars encourage viewers to sign the Bill of Reproductive Rights.

“Every day, the opponents of our fundamental reproductive rights are passing laws designed to take those rights away,” Streep says. “They’re making it nearly impossible for millions of women to get the essential health care they need.”
“Enough is enough,” Streep says. “It’s time to draw the line. It’s time to put the president, the congress, lawmakers across the United States on notice. We’re not going to stand for this anymore. Sign the Bill of Reproductive Rights and pass it on.”
These celebrities want you to vote. Among slew of celebs in the new non-partision video that is meant to garner enthusiasm among voters are: Tobey Maguire, Sarah Silverman, Jason Gordon Levitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen DeGeneres, Zac Efron, Selena Gomez, Edward Norton, Amanda Seyfried, Benicio Del Toro and Jonah Hill.
Many in the conservative blogosphere didn’t believe the video was non-partision, due to some of the issues brought up at the end of the video that tend to be supported by liberals. Although, many may describe it as a pro-Obama ad, it isn’t like this one from 2008.
DiCaprio told The Associated Press that the purpose was to ignite enthusiasm among voters.
“We are using the power of social media throughout the Vote 4 Stuff campaign to incite bipartisan conversation around real issues, encourage registration and voting in November.”

Comedienne Sarah Silverman has created a PSA that tackles the new ‘Voter ID’ laws that are going into effect in multiple states this election cycle. The comic lists students, black people, seniors and poor people as groups who will be hurt by these laws and who are more likely to vote for President Obama.
Sarah Silverman is offering up…a lot for giant GOP donor, Sheldon Adelson.
Adelson is one of many billionaire donors who have opened their wallets for GOP presidential nominee, Mitt Romney. The billionaire has pledged to give Romney $100 million to defeat President Obama in November.
Silverman tempts Adelson into giving money to Obama and democrats in return for lesbian sex – in her bikini.
“Do you know how many Republican billionaires are giving money to Romney? All of them,” Silverman said. “How many of them are getting scissored by a bikini-bottomed Jewess with big naturals? How many, Sheldon?”
