Following the lead of President Barack Obama last election, Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) is fundraising for reelection by raffling off a chance for supporters to dine with a celebrity.
Franken is raffling off a all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles to have brunch with him and comedian Conan O’Brien. The brunch will take place April 7 at O’Brien’s house.
A contribution to the Minnesota Democrat’s campaign automatically enters supporters into the raffle for a chance to win. The winner gets to bring one other person to the brunch with the comedians.
Franken is up for reelection in 2014 and experts predict the race will be heated.
O’Brien also helped Franken fundraise during his 2008 election.
O’Brien and Franken both attended Harvard and were both writers for “Saturday Night Live” in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
O’Brien is set to host the White House Correspondents Dinner on April 27.
