Former President Bill Clinton introduced Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln” at the HFPA Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.
Deadline is reporting that Spielberg helped orchestrate the surprise appearance by the 42nd President. Prior to Clinton’s introduction, few with HFPA knew about Clinton’s presentation and honchos at DreamWorks kept the plan under wraps, according to the Deadline.
Clinton received a standing ovation and praised the “brilliant film” in his introduction.
“Winning it required the President to make a lot of unsavory deals that had nothing to do with the big issue — I wouldn’t know anything about that,” Clinton joked.
