Madonna Booed for Obama Remarks at Concert

Madonna was booed after telling fans to vote for President Obama during a concert in New Orleans on Saturday.

“Are you all registered to vote?” She said. “I don’t care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama.”

After drawing boos and a few cheers, the pop star said, “Seriously, I don’t care who you vote for … Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote.”

This is the latest remark from the singer during her concert tour that  has caused uproar. She previously called Obama a “Black Muslim” and endorsed him by painting his name on her back.

Tina Fey Rips Todd Akin

Actress Tina Fey blasted Rep. Todd Akin at Center for Reproductive Rights gala in New York on Wednesday, reports E! Online.

“Todd Akin claims that women can’t really get pregnant from a legitimate rape because the body secretes hormones,” Fey said. “Now I can’t even finish this sentence without getting dumber; it’s making me dumber when I say it — but it’s something about the body not being able to get pregnant when it’s under physical stress. Mr. Akin, I think you are confusing the phrase ‘legitimate rape’ with the phrase ‘competitive gymnastics.'”

In August, Akin came under fire for stating “If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down.”

Fey continued, ripping the recent wave of Republican politicians who have made  controversial rape comments.

“If I have to listen to one more gray-faced man with a two-dollar haircut explain to me what rape is, I’m gonna lose my mind,” Fey said. “I watch these guys and I’m, like, ‘What is happening? Am I a secretary on ‘Mad Men’? What’s happening?'”`

Obama Has 16-1 Hollywood Fundraising Advantage

A total of 208 “celebrity” donors have given $712,874 to the Obama campaign compared to 15 donors who have given $46,500 to the Romney campaign, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, an organization that tracks donations.

The list of actors, directors and producers that donated least $5,000 include: Cameron Crowe, Will Ferrell, Ron Howard, Scarlett Johansson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Eddie Murphy, George Clooney, J.J. Abrams, Ellen DeGeneres, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr., Jamie Foxx, Brian Grazer, Adrian Grenier, Tom Hanks, Mariska Hargitay, Will Smith, Aaron Sorkin, Steven Spielberg, Barbra Streisand, Quentin Tarantino, Marlo Thomas, Sam Waterston, Ben Stiller, Oprah Winfrey, Kirk Douglas, Hilary Duff, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, Jack Black, Anne Hathaway, Bette Midler, Tobey Maguire and Rita Wilson.

Other celebrities who donated less than $5,000 include Susan Sarandon, Zach Braff, David Arquette, Martin Scorsese, Don Cheadle and Chevy Chase.

The website also reports that many in the music industry have given $5,000, including Don Henley, Gwen Stefani and Randy Newman – as well as many more who have contributed lesser amounts.

The list also includes authors, athletes and individuals in the fashion industry. This list consists of author Steven King, NBA players Vince Carter, Carmelo Anthony and former NBA player Magic Johnson, designer Michael Kors and model Christie Brinkley.

Obama also has a long list of ‘bundlers’ who collect funds from friends, family and associates and then contribute the funds in one large gift.

Some of those that top the list from the industry include Dreamworks’ Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, Harvey Weinstein, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and Ron and Kelly Meyer as well as actors Wendell Pierce, Tyler Perry and Eva Longoria.

Many of these individuals collected $500,000 according to the Center for Responsible Politics.

The Romney campaign’s list isn’t as prominent, but still has a few big Hollywood names including  Scott Baio, Jerry Bruckheimer, Neil Simon, Orson Bean, John O’Hurley, Jack Hanna as well as Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez.

Clint Eastwood Stars in Romney Ad

Legendary actor Clint Eastwood stars in a new Romney ad that is sponsored by conservative Super PAC American Crossroads.

The New York Times reports that the ad is currently airing in swing states Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio and Virginia.

“Obama’s second term would be a rerun of the first, and our country just couldn’t survive that,” Eastwood says. “We need someone who could turn it around fast, and that man is Mitt Romney. There’s not much time left, and the future of our country is at stake.”

Eastwood received praise and criticism after his speech at the Republican National Convention in late August. The actor later dinged the GOP in an interview, calling them ‘dumb.’

Most recently, his daughter Francesca admitted she wasn’t voting for Romney.

James Bond has endorsed President Obama.

British actor Daniel Craig recently told TheGrio.com that he is a supporter of the President.

“I think a lot of issues have become front and center that shouldn’t have, during his [Obama] administration, which has been sad,” Craig said. “I think the bi-partisan thing has been a disaster, and a little bit more cooperation in government would have made things an easier ride. We were in a deep deep recession, and he’s [Obama] done the best he can. I like that man a lot. I respect him. I trust him. I’m not hiding the fact that I support him. If I had to throw my support behind either candidate it would be Obama.”

The online site mentions the Skyfall actor also threw his support behind Obama in 2008.

Although Kelly Clarkson signaled support for Rep. Ron Paul during the Republican primary season, the ‘American Idol’ winner has switched her support to President Obama, she told the Daily Star.

“I’ve been reading online about the debates and I’m probably going to vote for Obama again, even though I’m a Republican at heart,” Clarkson said.

“I can’t support Romney’s policies as I have a lot of gay friends and I don’t think it’s fair they can’t get married,” Clarkson said.

The singer noted the contrast between Obama and Romney on reproductive rights – a hot topic for many female voters.

“I’m not a hardcore feminist but we can’t be going back to the 50s,” Clarkson added.

Clarkson said she admires the president and first lady.

“Obama is a great guy. I’ve met him and I’m a fan of Michelle too,” Clarkson said. “She has been busy promoting better education and healthy diets, which is something we could all use a dose of reality on.”

Jeff Foxworthy Campaigns for Romney

Comedian and television host Jeff Foxworthy campaigned for the Romney campaign in Colorado Springs on Saturday.

Foxworthy discussed a variety of topics including the national debt and economy.

“It’s a disaster, it’s exactly the formula for what has happened to Greece and what’s happening to Spain right now, we cannot sustain this,” Foxworthy said. “We have to put people back to work, we have to get control of this national debt, and if we don’t our kids are not gonna know the same country that we knew.”

Foxworthy advocated for the Romney/Ryan ticket, and said they were the candidates that could improve the economy and get people back to work.

“It’s time for somebody that understands business to get in and run the biggest business in the world, which is the government of the U.S., and put people back to work and cut this runaway debt,” Foxworthy said.

Local media affiliates noted that many in the crowd were dressed in bright orange hunting attire and the comedian addressed the issue of conservation.

“It’s like Clint Eastwood said. This country is ours. We own this country, we own this land. I don’t want somebody cutting it off from public use or making it national monuments. It’s our land. The right to hunt and fish, somebody died for that somewhere,” Foxworthy said.

Foxworthy slammed the Obama campaign for not focusing on the issues at hand.

“This election is not about Big Bird, and it’s not about binders, it’s about jobs,” Foxworthy said. “It’s about people losing 30-40 percent of their net worth, it’s about people being out of work for years and years, it’s about the national debt.”
