Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) got a visit from a president today. Well, sort of.
Actor Martin Sheen, who played President Josiah Bartlet in the West Wing, campaigned with Brown in Dayton, Ohio on Wednesday.
POLITICO reports that Brown’s communication’s director tweeted a photo of the two together at a Dayton food bank. The Huffington Post reports that Sheen and Brown also have a meet-and-greet planned for this afternoon.
Brown is facing Ohio state Treasurer Josh Mandel (R) in the general election. Brown is facing an uphill battle in a fight for reelection due to outside, conservative groups that are spending millions of dollars in campaign ads to defeat him.
