Jay-Z Supports Obama’s Endorsement of Same-Sex Marriage
Rapper Jay-Z recently came out in support for President Obama’s same-sex marriage endorsement.
The rapper told CNN that not allowing same-sex couples to marry is discrimination.
“I’ve always thought it as something that was still holding the country back,” Jay-Z said. “What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That’s their business. It’s no different than discriminating against blacks. It’s discrimination plain and simple.”
Jay-Z has been a long-time supporter
of the president, although he has had some criticisms
of the progress being made in Obama’s first term.
“You gotta fix [the country’s current climate],” Jay-Z said in 2011. “Can’t fix it all in one day. Numbers don’t lie, it’s f*cked up out there. Unemployment is still high.”
